The Chief Minister, while handing over job letters to 3910 master cadre teachers, said that after formation of government he had promised that 25,000 jobs will be given during the first year of their tenure. He said that it is a matter of great pride and satisfaction for him that this promise has been fulfilled merely in around nine months as his government has given jobs to 25,000 youth in various departments. Bhagwant Mann said that the sole criteria for these jobs have been merit and the capability of the youth.

The Chief Minister said that in the Education sector only recruitment of 6635 ETT teachers is already going on, adding that a new advertisement for recruitment of 5994 other teachers has also been issued. He said that this process will also be completed very soon in a transparent and smooth manner. Likewise, Bhagwant Mann said that the state government will also regularise services of around 23000 temporary employees shortly.

The Chief Minister said that the Education, Health and Employment sectors are three core areas of his government. He said that the current year will witness major changes in these three areas as the state government is zealously working on it. Bhagwant Mann said that the major focus of the state government is to check the brain drain from the state by upscaling infrastructure and manpower in these sectors.

Extending best wishes to the teachers for getting the employment letters, the Chief Minister described them as the ‘second parents’ of the teachers who play a pivotal role in the comprehensive development of a child. He called upon the newly recruited teachers to play a proactive role in shaping the destiny of the students. Bhagwant Mann said that these students should be well groomed as gems so that they can excel in every field.

The Chief Minister underscored the need for better synchronisation between the parents and teachers of the students. He said that for this purpose only the state government had taken historic initiative of organising the mega parent teacher meet in government schools to enable both the parents and teachers to have better understanding of the student. Bhagwant Mann said that this initiative is the need of hour to ensure holistic development of the child as per his interest.

The Chief Minister said that the state is blessed to have very hard working and intelligent students. He asked the teachers to focus on imparting quality education to them without wasting their time for getting postings near their homes. Bhagwant Mann said that the teachers will feel proud of these students in future as the success of students can never be described in words.

The Chief Minister further said that the state government will soon set up schools of eminence to provide quality education to the students of the state. Likewise, he said that within a year all the schools will have desks and separate toilets for girls and boys. Bhagwant Mann also said that soon the state government will also recruit campus manager and watchman for better upkeep of the schools.

The Chief Minister cautioned the people that forces inimical to Punjab are making constant efforts to disturb its hard earned peace. However, he said that the state government is committed to safeguard the peace, progress and prosperity of Punjab. Bhagwant Mann called upon the people to play a proactive role in cementing the ethos of peace, communal harmony and brotherhood in the state.

Reiterating that Punjab has not even a single drop of spare water to share with other states, the Chief Minister said that the interests of the state on river waters will be secured by all means. He said that question does not arise that Punjab will share its water with any other state.
