Jalandhar, February 20, 2018: In a big reprieve to the students desirous of applying for jobs in the Job Fairs being organized by the state government under the ‘Ghar-Ghar Naukri’ Mission, the Punjab government has now decided to remove the deadline for applying for these fairs.
Divulging the details, the Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Varinder Kumar Sharma said that earlier the state government has set a deadline of February 18 for the students to apply in the job fairs being organized by the state government from February 20 to March 8. However, he said that keeping in view the interest of the students, the state government has decided to remove this deadline. Mr. Sharma said that the state government has taken this decision to enable more and more students to apply for the jobs during the Job fairs.
He said that the interested youth must get their names registered in the District Employment Bureau so that their details could be submitted to the relevant companies for their interview/ test/ placement.Sharma said that besides it the candidates could also register themselves online on State Web Portal www.ghargharrozgar.punjab.gov.in. He said that those who have already registered on the portal must update their profile for availing best job opportunities.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the basic aim of these job fairs was to open new vistas of employment for the eligible students. He said that in the district this Job fair would be held from February 21-24. Mr. Sharma said that the fair would commence on February 21 at DAVIET Jalandhar and on February 22, 23 and 24 the venue for the job fair would at Shahpur campus of the CT Institute. He said that the youth desirous of applying for jobs through these fair must be between the age group of 19 to 28 years.
