State level Divyang Awards to be given on 3rd December- Aruna Chaudhary

Chandigarh, November 28: The Social Security, Women and Child Development Minister, Punjab, Mrs. Aruna Chaudhary today divulged that on the eve of World Divyang Day on 3rd December, the state level divyang awards for 2018-19 would be given at Amritsar in the auditorium of the Government Medical College.

Presiding over a meeting in her office here, the minister disclosed that the awards are given every year to those people, Employees, Players and the Institutions who have done valuable work for the welfare of divyang people or who have themselves scaled remarkable heights in their lives despite being divyang. The winners chosen from different categories would be honoured with cash awards.

The minister further added that the applications received from the eligible persons for the 2018-19 session awards and which have been recommended by the committees formed at the district level under the leadership of the Deputy Commissioners, have been selected/reviewed today by the state level selection committee. A total of 24 applications have been received in the different categories and the award winners would be announced soon.

Prominent among others who were present in the meeting included Principal Secretary Mrs Raji P Srivastwa, Deputy Director Mr Harpal Singh, Deputy Director (Employment Generation) Mrs Jagjit Kaur, Representative Of NGO Mr Kashmira Singh and Principal Sanjeeva Kumari.
