Students shouldn’t be denied from appearing in examination due to non-release of scholarships: Bains

Date:

Chandigarh: June 6

Punjab Technical Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains on Tuesday directed all government and private universities and colleges in the state not to prevent any student from appearing in the examination due to non-receipt of scholarships.

Mr Bains said that it has come to his notice that some private and government institutions have attempted to prevent students from appearing for the paper due to non-availability of scholarships.

In a letter to the Additional Chief Secretary, Technical Education and Principal Secretary, Higher Education, the Minister has directed that all government and private colleges and universities in the state should be directed not to prevent a student from appearing in the examination if any case of scholarship of a student is pending.

If any college/university have been found violating these instructions, a strict action will be taken by the Punjab government against them. Bains directed the officials to immediately issue a notice in this regard.
