Chandigarh, January 3:
Senior Congress leader and Deputy Chief Minister S. Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa has expressed concern at the appeal made by Jathedar Sri Akal Takht Sahib Giani Harpreet Singh to strengthen Shiromani Akali Dal during observance of Protest Day by the SAD at Sri Harmandir Sahib. The Deputy Chief Minister said that the Badal Dal committed sacrilege hence he appealed to the Jathedar to instead act against Father-Son duo of Badals due to the anti-panthic activities of these ‘Masands’.
In a letter written to Giani Harpreet Singh, S. Randhawa said, “The Badal Dal has observed Protest Day at sacred Sri Harmandir Sahib but my heart ached when the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, the institution founded by Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji, along with the SGPC made an appeal to strengthen SAD which has caused tremendous hurt to the Sikh Sangat.
He reminded that a during the speech from Sri Manji Sahib Diwan Hall whereas on one hand the panth has been cautioned against the masands gaining ascendancy, on the other hand the masands who captured SGPC previously forged friendships with the Dera people drinking Jaam e Insaan and also made efforts to get the Dera Chief bailed out of Bathinda case. These masands had the motive of seeking votes in violation of the Hukamnama by Sri Akal Takht Sahib.
Propped up by the akalis, the Deradar produced films and committed sacrilege incidents in 2015 at Bargari, Malke and Gurusar Bhagta. The akalis forced Jathedar sahiban and the SGPC to forgive Dera chief and put out advertisements by spending out of the ‘Guru Ki Golak’.
Adding further, S. Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa said,”Is there any bigger masand than the ex Chief Minister and his ex Deputy Chief Minister son. But our Government taking serious Note of the case continued the investigation relying on the Special Investigation Team (SIT) and caught the sacrilege accused in 2018 and put them behind bars.”
