Suresh Kumar rejoins office as Chief Parliamentary Secretary

Chandigarh, February 20: Five days after a Division Bench of the Punjab and Haryana High Court stayed the Single Bench order quashing his appointment, retired bureaucrat Suresh Kumar on Monday rejoined as Chief Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister.

Kumar resumed office duty in the evening after meeting Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh at the latter’s residence around 1:30 pm. Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary Tejvir Singh and Special Principal Secretary Gurkirat Kirpal Singh were present when he joined.

A couple of days ago, Kumar had written to the CM: “It will be appropriate to wait for the final order in the appeal filed by the Punjab Government against the Single Bench order of January 15.”
