Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) chief Sunil Jakhar said the party after going through an apology submitted by Zira decided to reinstate him.

Earlier, the party before suspending him has issued him a show-cause notice. On finding his reply as unsatisfactory, he was suspended. Cooperation Minister Sukhjinder Randhawa and Ferozepur MLA Parminder Pinki lobbied for the reinstatement of Zira.

Zira has complained against the IG, Ferozpore range, Mukhwinder Singh Chhina for allegedly protecting liquor contractors and drug peddlers. “The complaint against the IG is being probed by the DGP and truth will come out,” said the PPCC chief.
