Tamil leaders, activists support SGPC signature campaign for release of Sikh prisoners

The ‘Naam Tamilar Katchi’ (NTK) of Tamil Nadu, which is raising its voice in favour of human rights, has supported the signature campaign launched by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) for the release of the Bandi Singhs (Sikh prisoners). Today, the NTK party leaders who visited Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib, to pay obeisance, participated in SGPC’s signature campaign by filling proformas and demand release of Sikh prisoners.

On this occasion, the NTK leader and United Nations (UN) speaker Jeeva Dawning appreciated the efforts being made by the SGPC for the release of Sikh prisoners and termed the release of the Sikh prisoners as their constitutional right. He said that the ‘Naam Tamilar Katchi’ will support the SGPC on this matter. In this regard, a voice will be raised within the state and the matter will also be taken to the UN.

On this occasion, SGPC member Bhagwant Singh Sialka said that the cooperation of the ‘Naam Tamil Katchi’ for the release of Sikh prisoners will further intensify this movement. He said that the signature campaign started under the guidelines of SGPC President Harjinder Singh Dhami is progressing continuously and the voice of millions of people will open the closed ears of the government. He honoured the leaders of NTK with a photo of Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib and religious literature.

Present on this occasion included Dal Khalsa leader Bhai Kanwarpal Singh Bittu and Angad Singh and NTK leaders MU Kalanjiyam, T Pakkiyaraj, Muthu Pandi, Jeeva Dawning, information officer of Sri Darbar Sahib Randhir Singh and others.
