S.A.S. Nagar, December 30: The Education Department is in the fast track mode regarding the completion of the teacher recruitment process.
“The department has prioritized the necessary action to be taken and maintained perfect coordination with the various departments and proceeded fast in the matter,” said Education and PWD Minister Vijay Inder Singla.
The minister while divulging more said that after the Education Department sent the proposal regarding new recruitment to the Finance Department then the latter asked for completing some processes in order to justify the demand for new posts.
The processes included the promotions of teachers and the rationization. He also said that in accordance with the newly framed service rules, first of all, the process for carrying out promotions from Primary to Master Cadre, Promotions of Head Teachers and Centre Head Teachers (Primary), Promotions from Master Cadre to Lecturer and Lecturer to Principal was completed fastly by the Education Department and afterwards set the target of completing the requisite rationalization process which paved the way for the creation of new posts in the Education Department.
The minister further added that the proposal regarding new recruitment was sent by the Education Department to the Finance Department to which the latter agreed. Now, the proposal is readied by the Education Department for placing it in the Cabinet Meeting for approval.
He also divulged that the recruitment board of the Education Department is already recognized by the Cabinet for completing the recruitment process. So, as soon as the Cabinet approves the proposal of the Education Department, the recruitment process would be completed by the 31st March, 2020 in post giving advertisements in newspapers as per the posts sanctioned by the Finance Department.
The minister further disclosed that the higher officials of the Education Department played a very dedicated role in the process. The Education Department held meetings with the Finance Department at regular intervals and placed the demand for teachers in order to provide quality education which has resulted in realizing the hopes of the unemployed TET qualified youth.
Mr. Singla also said that the Education Department has held a meeting with all the District Education Officers of Punjab in which they have been directed to complete as soon as possible the seniority lists of the teachers and complete the process of pending promotions.
The minister also exhorted the unemployed youth to shed the path of demonstrations because the Education Department is moving very fast with regard to the recruitment process.
