Hoshiarpur, March 12: A man, his wife and their five-year-old daughter were killed in an accident on the Jalandhar-Hoshiarpur road today.
The mishap occurred when the scooter they were riding had a collision with a car near the Taragarh turn. The deceased were identified as Mohit Kumar (38), his wife Dimple (35) and their daughter Manya (5). The family was going to Chintpurni Temple. The driver of the car, Hardeep Singh, a resident of Amritsar, was injured.
Mandiala police post incharge Harjinder Singh reached the spot. He said Manya succumbed to injuries at the Hoshiarpur Civil Hospital while Dimple died outside the District Hospital. Mohit Kumar died during treatment at a private hospital. The police are investigating the case and have recorded the statements of the relatives of the deceased. The post-mortem would be done tomorrow.
