Three Punjab Municipal Corporations to go to polls between December 12 and 15

Chandigarh, November 11: Punjab Local Government Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu on Saturday announced that Municipal Corporation polls for Jalandhar, Amritsar and Patiala would be held between December 12 and 15.

The notification for the purpose is likely to be issued next week.

The State Election Commissioner (SEC), Jagpal Singh Sandhu told babushahi.com that the process of holding these polls has ben initiated and revision of electoral rolls started.

Along with these three MCs, the polling in 32 Nagar Councils will also be held simultaneously.

As of now, Ludhiana Municipal Corporation has been kept out of the poll schedule due to non-completion of the process of wards delimitation. It is learnt that polling here may be held some time in January, 2018.
