Chandigarh, March 27: The Aam Aadmi Party has taken a serious view of the posting/transfers of ROs/AROs on election duty for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2019, which tantamount to the blatant violation of the Model Code of Conduct.
AAP’s spokesman and President, Legal Cell of the party Jastej Singh on Tuesday lodged a complaint with the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) pointing out the alleged violation. He said that the transfer/posting of as many 10 such sub divisional officer and deputy commissioner level officer in their home district was a clear cut violation of Model Code of Conduct.
In his written complaint to the CEO, AAP spokesman said that the ten officers deputed as the Returning Officers/Assistant Returning Officers, were posted/transferred in their home districts in violation of the Manual Model Code of conduct.
He said that the current postings/transfers of the aforesaid officers were in total violation of the Model Code of Conduct. Singh urged the CEO to change shift these officials from their present places of posting to ensure that there was no violation of the Model Code of Conduct set up by the Election Commission of India.
