Transport Minister declares Saturday as working to clear pendency of vehicles’ passing

Punjab Transport Minister S. Laljit Singh Bhullar, on Tuesday, directed the officials of the department to work on Saturday (June 10, 2023) to clear the pendency of passing of vehicles. Following the instructions of the Cabinet Minister, the department has issued written order in this regard, declaring Saturday as a working day.

Giving more information in this regard, S. Laljit Singh Bhullar said that transport department has adopted a new online tab slot system for issuing certificates of fitness (passing certificate) to transport vehicles, due to which the pendency of passing certificates has increased. Thus, coming Saturday has been declared as a working day so that pendency could be cleared at the earliest.

The Cabinet Minister directed all the Secretaries of Regional Transport Authorities and Motor Vehicle Inspectors of the state to ensure strict compliance of the instructions. The Secretary Transport has issued written order in this regard.

S. Laljit Singh Bhullar reiterated that complying to the instructions of the Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Mann of clearing pendency of the driving license and RCs up till June 15, the department is working round the clock to ensure that no case should be pending. These services will be provided to the people in a stipulated time frame, he added.
