Transport Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar hoists tricolour at Sangrur, vows to fulfill martyrs’ dream

Hoisting the Tricolour at Sangrur on the occasion of the 76th Independence Day of India, Punjab Transport and Animal Husbandry Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar vowed to fulfill the dreams of martyrs and take Punjab to new heights of glory.

“It is a matter of pride and inspiration for us that Punjabis have made the most sacrifices during the freedom struggle”, said the Cabinet Minister, while congratulating one and all during district level independence day function. He also inspected the parade and took the salute from the march past.

Bhullar said that as the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann led government is on the path of fulfilling the dreams of the martyrs, the Punjab is gaining momentum in the sectors of power, agriculture, education, law & order, civic amenities, infrastructure, all round urban and villages development, Health, besides creating investment-friendly Industrial environment.

He said that the government has taken many pro-people initiatives during its tenure of about five months. The government has launched anti-corruption action line to completely root out corruption from our system. Similarly, anti-gangster task force has been formed and a large number of gangsters have been arrested/neutralized. Apart from this, the government has doubled the ex-gratia grant to the families of the martyred soldiers to Rs.1 crore.

The Minister categorically said that the government has broken the monopoly of private bus players, and now the state-run buses are plying from Punjab to Delhi international Airport on much cheaper fares than the private buses. Motor vehicle dealers have also been authorized as the competent authority for the registration of the new vehicle.

Sharing the important development works of district Sangrur, Bhullar said that the first academic session of Sant Baba Atar Singh State Institute of Medical Sciences, which will come up at a cost of Rs.345 crores on around 25 acres of land at Mastuana Sahib, will be started from April 1, 2023. The existing Civil Hospital, Sangrur will be upgraded from 220 beds to 360 beds. He said that Asia’s largest compressed biogas plant has become operational at village Bhutal Kalan and Center for Excellence for Onion will be established to the encourage farmers for onion cultivation by breaking the wheat-paddy cycle.

Cabinet Minister Bhullar also felicitated Freedom Fighters and their families and persons with remarkable services in various fields besides distributing sewing machines and tricycles to needy. School students presented cultural program during the Independence Day function.

The Cabinet Minister announced a holiday on August 16 in participating schools besides bestowing cash amount of Rs.1100 each to students teams, who participated in cultural program. The cheques were distributed to five livestock farmers under the Murrah Buffalo Project scheme and new beneficiaries of old age pensioners, disabled voters, self-help groups, job card holders of MGNREGA were honoured.

Earlier, the cabinet minister also paid tribute to the martyrs at the Martyr’s Memorial at Police Line.

DEDICATES FOUR AAM AADMI CLINICS TO THE PEOPLE OF SANGRUR

Mr. Laljit Singh Bhullar dedicated four Aam Aadmi clinics to the people in district Sangrur, out of which two are in Sangrur City, one each in Bhawanigarh and Dhuri.

He said that total 75 new Aam Aadmi Clinics have been dedicated to the people in the state on Independence Day under first phase and all these clinics will ensure the best possible healthcare services to the people at their doorsteps.

MLA Sangrur Narinder Kaur Bharaj, MLA Lehra, Barinder Kumar Goyal, Senior Leader Gurmail Singh Gharachon, District & Sessions Judge Rajinder Singh Rai and other Judges, Deputy Commissioner Jatinder Jorwal, S.S.P. Mandeep Singh Sidhu, ADC Anmol Singh Dhaliwal, ADC (D) Virjit Walia, ADC (UD) Latif Ahmed, SDM Charanjot Singh Walia, Assistant Commissioner Devdarshdeep Singh and others were also present on the occasion.
