Two cousins kidnapped, ‘raped’; four booked

Bathinda, March 1: Two Bathinda-based cousin sisters were “raped” after they were kidnapped by four unidentified persons near Diyon village on Bathinda-Talwandi Sabo road.The Talwandi Sabo police today booked four unidentified persons after recording the victims’ statements. No accused has been identified yet.
A case was registered on the complaint of one of the victims (aged 24), a resident of Dhobiana Basti, Bathinda. It was alleged that she and her cousin sister (aged 22) went to Talwandi Sabo Gurdwara yesterday.
On their way back to Bathinda by bus, the vehicle broke down near Diyon village. So they got off the bus and went their way.The complainant called up her father and began waiting for some other vehicle.
At about 7.30 pm, a car with a Delhi registration number came near them. The four persons inside kidnapped them after shutting their mouths. They took the women to an unidentified place in the yards and allegedly raped them, the complainant alleged.Then, the men dropped the women near the road.
Somehow, both reached the civil hospital. Later, they were discharged.Krishan Singh, investigating officer of the Talwandi Sabo police station, said that a case under Section 376 of the IPC has been registered against unidentified persons.
The matter appears suspicious as the women didn’t give any satisfactory answer to the police regarding their visit to Talwandi Sabo. Krishan Kumar said that he would comment only after the end of the probe.
While the girls were waiting for their father to pick them up on a road, a car with a Delhi registration number came near them. The four persons inside kidnapped them after shutting their mouths. They took the women to an unidentified place in the yards and allegedly raped them.
