Two-day bankers’ strike from today

Date:

New Delhi, May 30: Banking services are likely to be impacted for the next couple of days as employees of the public sector banks have given a call for two-day nationwide strike from Wednesday to press for wage revision.

As the meeting called by the Chief Labour Commissioner for reconciliation failed, all nine constituents of United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) have decided to continue with strike call, a statement said. At May 5 meeting, a 2 per cent wage hike offer was rejected by unions. PTI
