Two mobiles thrown into Moga jail, security up

Date:

Pathankot, May 12: The police upped security in and around the sub-jail here after some persons threw two mobile phones inside the jail complex on Saturday evening. SSP Vivek Sheel Soni ruled out the terror angle. He said a case was registered at the Division No 2 police station on a complaint filed by the jail staff.

“The police have launched a hunt for the people who threw the handsets inside the jail from across the wall. Security has been tightened in and around the prison,” said the SSP.
The SSP added that barrack No 3 was put under immediate surveillance after it was confirmed that the packet containing the mobile phones was meant for inmates housed there.

Both phones, which were hidden in a broken pipe before being packed in a plastic bag, did not have any SIM card.
