Under ‘Badlav’ govt State headed towards de-investment, as industrialists plan to move out

Date:

Chandigarh, April 5, 2023: Slamming the Aam Aadmi Party for implementing rules to levy the fuel and power purchase cost on consumers, PPCC President Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, today said, “The Aam Aadmi Party govt has already failed in fulfilling its poll promises and now it is all set to further burden the people of Punjab by implementing the anti-people decision to levy the fuel and power purchase cost on consumers which would adversely affect the common man as well as the industrialists in Punjab.”

The PCC president added that the Bhagwant Mann led government is hell bent on adding to the woes of the common man through its anti-people decisions. “Rising retail inflation, skyrocketing prices of food and other essential items has already made the lives of common man miserable by burdening them financially. It has already been exposed that AAP government is squandering public money for their personal promotions and for shielding its tainted leaders involved in the Delhi Liquor scam & other frauds. It deceived the people of Delhi as well as Punjab, and is least bothered about soaring inflation which is pinching hard on common man’s pocket,” he added.

While speaking during the Samvidhan Bachao March in Ludhiana the PCC president said, “Instead of easing the financial burden of the voters of Punjab, the AAP Punjab imposed cess on Petrol & Diesel which badly impacted each and every household. In the dearth of pro-industry initiatives and favorable decisions, the govt failed abysmally to woo investors in the state. Instead of doing something for the progress & development of the state, the AAP leaders are busy in creating cock & bull stories to validate their baseless accusations or play the blame game to hide their failures.”

Forget getting new investments or encouraging industrialists to contribute to state’s economic growth, the state government is discouraging and harassing the existing industrialists through the State GST Department which has served notices on about 8,000 assessees in the state in its assessment of old VAT cases for 2015-16 and 2016-17. This move has exposed that AAP Punjab leadership is visionless and its leaders are naïve in handling state issues.

“Under the inexperienced and incompetent leadership and poor governance, the Aam Aadmi Party has failed to fulfill its promises made to the people of Punjab. It has drastically failed on all fronts be it eradicating the drug menace, eliminating gangster culture, quelling sand mafia, maintaining law and order situation, improving healthcare, addressing public grievances, reducing number of farmers’ suicides or other issues that it promised to change through the much-touted ‘Badlaav’,” added Warring.

Saying the Congress party has always raised its voice for safeguarding the rights of the people of the country & to ensure their welfare, the PCC President concluded, “We launched the ‘Samvidhan Bachao Muhim’ in Punjab to reach out to the masses to protect the constitution of the country. We stand in solidarity with the common man as well as the industrialists and to ease their financial burden we will take on the state govt against this anti-people decision to levy additional expenditure incurred by the state power utility on power purchase and fuel purchase for thermal power plants on consumer.”
