Chandigarh, June 12
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab has termed the alliance of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD Badal) and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) for the 2022 Punjab Assembly elections as anti-Punjab and unholy, stating that it has been formed on the directions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to obstruct the way of the Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab. Addressing a press conference convened at the party headquarters here on Saturday, AAP’s Punjab affairs co-incharge and MLA from Delhi Raghav Chadha said that the anti-Punjab parties were appalled by the love shown by the people to the Aam Aadmi Party in Punjab; therefore, to prevent the AAP from forming a government in the forthcoming Assembly elections, there was now two types of alliances, formal and informal, by the parties that were looting and harassing Punjab. Chadha said that the first formal alliance was in the form of alliance of SAD Badal and BSP, while the second informal alliance was of the Captain Amarinder Singh-led Congress, SAD Badal, BSP and BJP.
He said that the Shiromani Akali Dal Badal and Bahujan Samaj Party were puppet parties of Prime Minister Narendra Modi while Captain Amarinder Singh considered Modi as his boss. Chadha was accompanied by Leader of Opposition (LoP) Harpal Singh Cheema, MLAs Prof Baljinder Kaur, Master Baldev Singh and party’s general secretary Harchand Singh Barsat. The AAP leaders said that the Bahujan Samaj Party claims to be a party led by Dalits, but was working closely with the Akali Dal, which perpetrated atrocities on Dalits, which was highly reprehensible. They said that by forming an alliance with Akali Dal, the Bahujan Samaj Party had snuffed out the ideology of Babu Kanshi Ram and Baba Sahib Bhim Rao Ambedkar. “It was the Akali Dal, which had burnt copies of the constitution written by Baba Sahib Bhim Rao Ambedkar and staged protests against Baba Sahib and today the BSP is preparing to contest the elections by forming an alliance with them,” said the leaders.
The AAP leaders said that during the SAD-BJP regime in Punjab, Dalits had been subjected to most atrocities and daughters of Dalits had been thrown out of buses. Harpal Singh Cheema said that the Akali Dal had lost its existence at present and BSP had no base in Punjab, so zero and zero would be zero. He said that after the death of Babu Kanshi Ram, the BSP had become a party of the rich and the BSP had also reached the point of corruption by working on the policy of Akali Dal of looting and beating the people. “The BSP’s alliance with the Akali Dal, which had signed the black laws by stabbing the farmers and farm laborers of Punjab in the back, has proved to be anti-farmer and anti-farm labor,” he added. Cheema said that due to the scholarship scam of poor children during the Akali Dal government; even today the degrees of Dalit children had been withheld due to which they were being deprived of getting higher education.
