It’s the month of love and everyone can be seen celebrating it in their own inimical ways. So, here’s the Punjabi movie industry doing its own bit.
Zee Studios’s romedy movie ‘Kala Shah Kala’ is all set to hit theatres this Friday. Starring Sargun Mehta and Binnu Dhillon in comic roles, the movie also has Jordan Sandhu as the third lead.
Written and directed by Amarjit Singh, Kala Shah Kala is a romantic comedy but has an important social message. The film will bring Sargun Mehta and Binnu Dhillon on the screen
together for the first time.
At a press conference in Chandigarh on Monday, Shariq Patel, CEO, Zee Studios said, “The film has an important social message, that of ending discrimination on the basis of the colour of ones skin. We hope audiences will open their minds to this malaise of the society and appreciate the film releasing this Valentine’s Day.”
The subject of the film may seem a bit serious, but its treatment is an utmost comedy manner, said actor Sargun Mehta. Binnu Ji’s comic timing is something we all are a fan of. “I never knew that even Jordan is so much fun to work with. You will be entertained watching this film, that’s a promise.”
Actor-producer Binnu Dhillon commented, “This concept is not new, we have always
seen the discrimination on the basis of color of the skin. But the way it is treated in this
film is unique; the message is conveyed without compromising with entertainment.
Moreover, collaborating with a national brand like Zee for a regional film is a matter of pride for the Punjabi cinema.”
Actor-turned-Singer Jordan Sandhu said, “Working with a great team is a blessing and
being a part of such a wonderful concept, is a cherry on the cake. I couldn’t have asked for anything more. I hope our efforts will touch the hearts of our fans.”
