Varun Gandhi thanks PM Modi over announcement of fresh 10 lakh jobs

Date:

New Delhi, June 14

Soon after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s office announced 10 lakh job recruitments in the government “in mission mode”, Varun Gandhi tweeted him a message of “thanks”for “understanding pain and emotions of unemployed youth”, which many perceived a veiled dig by the BJP’s estranged MP.

The Pilbhit MP who has been openly critical of the party and the government wrote: “Thank you Prime Minister for understanding the pain and emotions of the unemployed youth. Along with creating new jobs, we also need to make meaningful efforts to fill up more than 1 crore ‘sanctioned but vacant’ posts. To fulfill the promise of providing 2 crore jobs every year, steps will have to be taken at a faster pace”.

Yesterday he “thanked” AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi for mentioning questions raised by him (Varun Gandhi) in his speech. Gandhi shared a video in which Owaisi can be seen reading out the number of vacant posts, saying that it was not his data but one provided by the BJP MP.

“Unemployment is the most burning issue of the country today and leaders of the whole country should draw the attention of the government to it. Unemployed youth should get justice, only then the country will become powerful,” Gandhi said on Monday

Notably the government’s decision comes amid widespread criticism of unemployment and vacant posts in different government sectors.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today asked various government departments and ministries to undertake the recruitment of 10 lakh people on a “mission mode” in the next year and a half

“PM Narendra Modi reviewed the status of Human Resources in all departments and ministries and instructed that recruitment of 10 lakh people be done by the Government in mission mode in the next 1.5 years,” the PMO stated following a review of the status of human resources in all government departments and ministries.
