Vigilance nabs ASI for taking bribe Rs.12,000

Chandigarh, April 14 : Punjab Vigilance Bureau on Thursday nabbed ASI Ram Parkash, posted at police station Aur, SBS Nagar district red handed accepting bribe of Rs 12,000.

Disclosing this here an official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau Punjab said accused reader was arrested on the complaint of Shamsher Singh of village Pandrawal, SBS Nagar district. The complainant has approached the VB and alleged that the above mentioned accused ASI was demanding bribe of Rs. 13,000 to help him in a police complaint case.

After verifying his information, a vigilance team laid a trap and the accused ASI was arrested on the spot while taking bribe of Rs. 12,000 from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses.

The spokesperson informed that in this regard a case under prevention of corruption act has been registered against him at VB police station, Jalandhar and further investigation is under progress.
