Chandigarh, March 9: State Vigilance Bureau today nabbed a revenue Patwari red handed while accepting bribe of Rs.10,000.
Disclosing this here an official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said Dharmraj, Patwari posted at revenue halqa Balra in Sangrur district was nabbed red handed by Vigilance team for accepting bribe of Rs. 10,000 from complainant Najar Singh of Balra, Sangrur district.
The complainant has approached the VB and alleged that the above said Patwari was demanding Rs. 15,000/- for mutation of land. He said that he had already paid Rs. 5,000 to the accused Patwari as a first installment.
After verifying his information, a team from Vigilance bureau laid a trap and the accused Patwari was arrested on the spot while accepting bribe of Rs. 10,000/- as a second installment from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses.
He informed that a case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the accused at VB police station Patiala and further investigation was under progress.
