Warring raises controversy by ‘khaansi wali davaayi’ remark in Rajasthan

Date:

Muktsar, November 23: Gidderbaha MLA Amrinder Singh ‘Raja Warring’ has triggered a controversy while campaigning in favour of Congress’s Pilibanga candidate Vinod Gothwal.

In a video gone viral on social media, while addressing the public, Warring said, “Agar Gothwal 20,000 se jeeta, jo bhi Punjab aayega, usko chai ke saath gulaab jamun milega din mein, aur raat ko khaansi wali davaayi bhi milegi. Agar koi nahaana chahega khaansi wali davaayi se, nehla bhi denge. Ye free hai Punjab mein.”

Warring clarified the remark on Friday saying, “I just told the gathering that in case the Congress candidate won with a huge margin, they (voters) would get a warm welcome in Punjab. By ‘khaansi wali davaayi’ I meant ‘Corex’ as people have cough these days. It had no connection with liquor. Even I am a teetotaler.”
