Wife, son not to take up government jobs, says Navjot Sidhu

Date:

Chandigarh, May 26: Having drawn flak over getting his wife Navjot Kaur Sidhu and son Karan Singh Sidhu appointed as chairperson of Punjab Warehousing Corporation and as Punjab law officer respectively, Local Bodies Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu on Saturday said they were not taking up the posts.

Addressing the media here on Saturday, Sidhu said both his wife and son thought their conscience did not allow them to take up the posts. He said it was their decision.
Sidhu said his wife is dedicated to the welfare of the state.

The minister reiterated that he is not a landlord, and all in his family are professionals. That’s why his son decided to take the job of a law officer. “In politics, credibility is a big thing. So my son decided to resign on his own,” he said.
