Abohar, May 21: Kamla Devi (35), a resident of Chak 6PHM village in Rajasthan, got drowned in a reservoir while trying to take out water on Saturday afternoon. Her daughters Bindu (7) and Pooja (12) also drowned in an attempt to rescue her.
She was a native of Seetogunno village of Balluana segment in Abohar subdivision. Her parents, who reached Chak 6PHM village, were told that her in-laws were monitoring sand filling work in their fields for which five tractors and more than 10 labourers were engaged.
Around 3 pm, Kamla went to the reservoir to take water after serving food to labourers. She slipped into the reservoir. Her daughters tried to rescue her, but they too got drowned.
When they did not return, her husband Bhanwer Lal went to the reservoir site and found all three dead.
A postmortem was conducted on Sunday.
