Chandigarh, July 20: Chandigarh Police have registered a case after a 22-year-old married woman alleged that she was gang-raped by around 40 persons at a village in Morni, Panchkula district.
The victim, who is a resident of Mani Majra, approached the UT cops after the Haryana Police failed to address her complaint.
Sources said the victim who was taken to a guest house in Morni on the pretext of providing her a job, was allegedly raped by the guest house manager and his accomplices.
She was allegedly raped for four days before she managed to escape from their clutches.
Failing to get justice in Panchkula, the victim gave a complaint at Mani Majra police station after which cops got the victim’s statement recorded under Section 164 CrPC and a case was registered.
The two accused arrested by the Chandigarh Police were produced in the local court on Friday, from where they were sent to the judicial custody.
