Woman nabbed with 25-gm heroin by CIA staff in Abohar

Abohar, June 25: The CIA staff here on Saturday claimed to have seized 25 gm of heroin by intercepting Krishna Soni of Nai Abadi near the city bypass. She was arrested under Sections 21, 61 and 85 of the NDPS Act.

Krishna, popular among addicts as “Maasi” (aunty), her husband Chander Bhan, alias Kali Soni, and their children have been arrested many a time under the NDPS Act for allegedly selling smack in pouches.

Following counselling by then DSP Raj Kumar Jalhotra, they appeared before the media in 2014 and announced to give up drug peddling. Now, the family has reverted to smuggling of drugs.

The Khuyiansarwer police nabbed Kulwinder Singh of Basti Maghar Singh (Guruharsahai) under the NDPS Act for carrying 10-kg of poppy husk on Saturday.
