Mai Bhago Armed Forces Preparatory Institute for Girls, SAS Nagar (Mohali) has invited online applications for the written entrance examination to be conducted for the first batch of National Defence Academy (NDA) Preparatory Wing.
Notably, Chief Minister S Bhagwant Mann led Punjab Government has recently decided to start the National Defence Academy (NDA) Preparatory Wing at Mai Bhago AFPI from this academic session. With this decision, Punjab continues to remain a front runner in providing opportunities for women in Defence Forces.
The Director of the Mai Bhago Armed Forces Preparatory Institute for Girls Major General JS Sandhu (Retd.) informed that online registration for the entrance exam, which is scheduled to be held on June 4, 2023, has already begun and the last date for the registration is May 28, 2023.
He further said that this path breaking initiative of Punjab Government will further empower women of the state by providing an opportunity to fulfil their dreams to join armed forces as Commissioned Officers.
A total of ten girls will be selected this year for the first batch, he informed, while adding that in order to apply for the NDA preparatory course, the girls should have passed class 10th examination in 2023 and girls studying in class XI can also apply but their date of birth should not be before July 02, 2006. The candidates should also have a domicile of Punjab. The state government would bear the entire cost of the training of the girls, including boarding and lodging, at the institute, he added.
