Chandigarh, January 7: Accusing the Congress-led Punjab Government for “spoiling the future” of the state’s youth, the Shiromani Akali Dal (Taksali) on Sunday said that Punjabi youth need good employment and education not smart-phones.
“Keeping in view the ensuing Lok Sabha polls, the Congress Government in Punjab is making fool of the youth,” said SAD (Taksali) president and Lok Sabha MP Ranjit Singh Brahmpura.
Brahmpura advised the Congress Government not to destroy the future of state’s youth. “They are our future…They need better education and employment, instead of smart-phones,” he said.
He pointed that the problem of drug abuse amongst state’s youth is a matter of serious concern “as every third person is addicted to drugs and our children are dying, nothing is being done”.
“Government need to work hard to bring them back on a good path, but the Congress Government is failed on this issue too. At this time, the youth need only good jobs so that they can fulfil all their needs by themselves,” he said.
He claimed that youth would be joining the SAD (Taksali) in large number in few days.
