Ex-post facto approval for depositing zoo revenue in account of Punjab Zoos Development Society

Chandigarh, June 27: The Punjab Cabinet on Wednesday gave ex-post facto approval to deposit of all Zoo revenue into the account of Punjab Zoos Development Society.

The Cabinet has okayed a decision of the State Board for Wildlife, taken to this effect on July 14, 2017, at a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh.

Besides entry tickets, the Zoos generated revenue from canteens, parking place, safaris, vehicles, food courts etc, and the same was being deposited in the Society’s account since April 1, 2013.

The Punjab Zoos Development Society was constituted vide Punjab Government Notification dated February 26, 2012 for the development of zoos of the state.
