Panipat, September 18: A 12-year-old Class VIII student was on Monday allegedly kidnapped by 10 persons at a village of Samalkha in Panipat district while she was on her way home from school.
They allegedly molested the girl and tried to rape her. Her father, along with villagers, found her in the fields in an unconscious condition.
The police registered a case and started investigation into the matter. Jagdeep Duhan, DSP (Headquarters), and the SHO, women police station, reached the spot.
The victim reported that she was on her way home when around 10 youths came in a black vehicle.
She reported that they made her smell some sedative, after which she fell unconscious. She reported that they took her to the fields, where they molested her and tried to rape her.
The father of the victim said they were searching for his daughter because she had not reached home after school hours.
He said some villagers saw her lying in an unconscious condition in the fields and informed them, after which they reached the spot and informed the police.
Her parents took her to the Samalkha police station and filed a complaint. Duhan reached Samalkha to investigate the matter. He said a case was registered against 10 persons.
A team was called to counsel the girl. She was sent to the General Hospital for medical examination. She refused to undergo medical examination in the presence of a doctor and the SHO, said Duhan.
