Chandigarh, May 7: The Government agencies and private Traders have procured 3,36,283 metric tonnes of wheat in Punjab on 23rd day of procurement.
Disclosing this here today, an official Spokesperson said that out of the total 3,36,283 procurement from various procurement centres in the State, the Government agencies procured 3,34,595 MT of wheat 1688 MT has been procured by the private traders (arhtyias).
He further said that PUNGRAIN has procured 69952 metric tonnes, MARKFED 82615 metric tonnes and PUNSUP procured 69658 metric tonnes while Punjab State Warehousing Corporation 48916 MT wheat respectively. The Centre government agancy FCI has procured 43663 MT wheat. Apart from this Pungrain Procured 19791 MT wheat for public distribution in the Punjab.
Progressive procurement by all the procuring agency is 107,96,982 MT.
