Chandigarh, May 5: The Government agencies and private Traders have procured 4,86,515 metric tonnes of wheat in Punjab on 21st day of procurement.
Disclosing this here today, an official Spokesperson said that out of the total 486515 procurement from various procurement centres in the State, the Government agencies procured 4,84,939 MT of wheat 1576 MT has been procured by the private traders (arhtyias).
He further said that PUNGRAIN has procured 100810 metric tonnes, MARKFED 117861 metric tonnes and PUNSUP procured 104381 metric tonnes while Punjab State Warehousing Corporation 73521 MT wheat respectively. The Centre government agancy FCI has procured 58949 MT wheat. Apart from this Pungrain Procured 29417 MT wheat for public distribution in the Punjab.
Progressive procurement by all the procuring agency is 10016270 MT.
He further said today 4,62,827 MT wheat lifted from the Mandis and payment of rupees 1,04,1592 cr. has been made for the procurement of wheat.
