Chandigarh, April 24:
The Government agencies and private Traders have procured 688713 metric tonnes of wheat in Punjab on fifteenth day of procurement.
Disclosing this here today, an official Spokesperson said that out of the total 688713 procurement from various procurement centres in the State, the Government agencies procured 688409 MT of wheat 304 MT has been procured by the private traders (arhtiyas).
He further said that PUNGRAIN has procured 129933 metric tonnes, MARKFED 192084 metric tonnes and PUNSUP procured 149894 metric tonnes while Punjab State Warehousing Corporation 93453 MT wheat respectively. The Centre government agancy FCI has procured 84202 MT wheat. Apart from this Pungrain Procured 38843 MT wheat for public distribution in the Punjab.
Progressive procurement by all the procuring agency is 7801538 MT.
