Chandigarh, December 25: Punjab’s recorded 9 more fatalities due to Covid-19 on Friday, taking the death toll to a total of 5,269. The caseload surged to 1,64,821 with 316 fresh infections, according to a medical bulletin. There are 4,707 active cases in the state, the bulletin stated.
A total of 412 coronavirus patients were discharged after recovering from the infection, taking the number of cured persons to 1,54,845 the bulletin said.
Twelve critical patients are on ventilator support while 96 are on oxygen support, it said.
So far, 37,86,885 samples were taken for testing and 1,64,821 were tested positive.
