Chandigarh/Mohali, January 16
Aam AAdmi Party’s (AAP) senior leader Harjot Singh Bains has accused Congress government for scam in the recruitment process of assembly employees. While exposing Congress with solid evidence, he said that despite giving jobs to eligible youth/candidate, Congress government has recruited children, kins and close relatives of MLA and ministers. Instead of Punjabis, people from outside Punjab were also given jobs by ignoring the rules, which is completely betrayal of the youth of Punjab.

He said that Congress, which had promised to provide jobs to every household after the formation of government, used its police to struck unemployed youth with sticks and gave jobs to its leaders. Unemployed youth of Punjab had been protesting on the streets and on the water tanks for the last five years, but instead of giving jobs to youth, the unrepentant Congress government deliberately gave priority to its family and relatives.

While releasing the list of recruitments made in the Secretariat (Vidhan Sabha) in the last 5 years, Bains said that people who were recruited are close- relatives and well-known of prominent Congress leaders, MLAs and ministers of Punjab. Among those few of them are very close to senior functionaries (full details are in the list). He also raised question about the requirement of people from outside Punjab and said “”Is everyone in Punjab employed that Congress is giving government jobs to the people of Himachal Pradesh and Haryana?”?”

Referring to some names from the list, he said that Siddharth Thakur, who was recruited to the post of Assistant Information Officer in the Legislative Assembly, is the son of bureaucrat VC Thakur, who is close to Rana KP Singh. Similarly, Manjinder Singh from Sangrur and son of Ram Singh who is the nephew of Surjit Singh Dhiman Congress MLA, Gaurav Thakur from hoshiarpur, son of Rajesh Singh is also relative of Rana KP Singh. Parveen Kumar son of Premchband who is the nephew of Joginder Singh ex-MLA, two brothers Gaurav Rana and Saurabh Rana son of Prem Chand who is the relative of Rana KP Singh, Rakesh Kumar son of Harbans Lal, who is the chairman of the market committee of Anandpur Sahib.
Bains further said that after his appointment in the Legislative Assembly, he was transferred to the DC office, Ropar. He neither go to the Legislative Assembly nor the DC office, and getting free salary while sitting at home. Similarly, Ajay Kumar’s son Ram Swaroop, who is from Bathinda and works under Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal, has never stepped-in Legislative Assembly even a single day and is getting free salary. Avtar Singh is the son of former Congress union minister Pawan Kumar Bansal’s driver, Kuldeep Singh Mann is from Manpreet Badal’s staff, Pramod Kumar son of Kamaldeep who is the son of PRTC director. Harjot Singh Bains alleged that the scam did not limit itself here, many of them were delivered appointment letters on their fake addressed. Anju Bala who is a daughter of Dharampal and brother-in-law of the secretary to the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly,Rana KP Singh. Suraj Preet Kaur is the niece of the Deputy Speaker; Tarun Sharma is the daughter-in-law of former Secretary of Legislative Assembly, Lakhanpal Mishra’s sister,.

Bains alleged that for recruitment, an appointment cell was setup, keeping the rules aside and a committee formed under it. Only those people were included in this committee who worked under the influence of Congress and signed the appointment paper. Not only this, their children were also ‘adjusted’ to give ‘award’ to the signing committee.
Bains demanded a CBI probe into the matter and also said that if the Aam Aadmi Party forms the government in Punjab, a CBI inquiry will be conducted into the matter. Those people from whose money was taken will be returned to them. Besides, all the relatives of the leaders who have been recruited, they will also be investigated.
