Sangrur, August 31: Aam Aadmi Party MP Bhagwant Mann and Leader of Opposition Harpal Singh Cheema on Friday demanded immediate registration of an FIR against the Badals and officers recently indicted by the Justice Ranjit Singh (retd) Commission.
Cheema said by not ordering the registration of an FIR against those accused of sacrilege, the Chief Minister had shown that he could go to any extent to save Badals.
Meanwhile, AAP has called a state-level meeting of all party leaders on September 2 here to take decision on contesting the forthcoming panchayat elections and to discuss other issues.
“We have called a meeting of all state leaders, including MLAs, zone incharges and district presidents, at Sangrur on September 2 to take a decision whether to contest panchayat elections on party symbol or not. Other Punjab issues will also be discussed,” said Mann at his office here.
