Chandigarh/Sri Fatehgarh Sahib, December 27: All the leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab paid obeisance at Gurudwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib on the occasion of Shaheedi Jor Mel, commemorating the unparalleled martyrdom of ‘Chote Sahibjadas’ on Sunday.

The leaders bowed down to the sacrifices of ‘Chotte Sahibjadas’ and prayed to give them the courage to take the path shown by the Gurus, of fighting against the tyranny. AAP state president and MP Bhagwant Mann and Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in Punjab Legislative Assembly, Harpal Singh Cheema said, “Today we, being humble Sikhs, have come to pay homage to the sacrifices of the ‘Chotte Sahibjadas’. We pray to God to give us the courage to fight against the oppression.”

The AAP leaders said that the ‘Sahibjadas’ had sacrificed their lives for the cause of truth and oppression before the tyrants of that time. They said that there was not much difference between the tyrants that time and the present governments. “Those who raised their voices against oppression were persecuted then and are being persecuted today as well,” the leaders said.

They said that it was the color of nature that even at the time of martyrdom of ‘Chotte Sahibzadas’ there was cold winds of winter and even today it was the same month, and the devotees following the path shown by Guru Gobind Singh ji were fighting against oppression of today’s ruler (government).

Addressing the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre, the AAP leaders said that the government should read the history of Punjab thoroughly before inflicting atrocities on the hard working people.

“Those who are agitating under the open sky on the Delhi borders today are the sons of tenth Guru Sri Gobind Singh ji, who sacrificed his sons and mother and still conveyed the message of staying in ‘Charhdi Kala’. Today we will not make any political remarks because we have only come to pay homage to the sacrifices of the martyrs,” the leaders said.

They said that AAP workers and leadership prayed to God to grant peace to the Modi government, so that it would listen to the millions of farmers of the country who were fighting for their rights and existence on the Delhi borders.

“The Modi-led central government is so arrogant that it is not hearing the voice of ‘annadatas’, nor the voice of mothers, elders and small children who have been in the severe cold for the last one month,” said the leaders.

They said that the Aam Aadmi Party stands shoulder to shoulder with the farmers, serving them as a servant and the party had raised its voice in their favor on every front without any banner or flag.
