Reacting to the public opinion to form the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab in the 2022 elections as per the survey conducted by ABP C-voters, AAP Punjab co-incharge Raghav Chadha said that the Aam Aadmi Party is the first choice of the people of Punjab, which the people see as the only credible alternative that can bring a real change. In a statement issued from the party headquarters, Chadha said that the survey conducted by the channel had proved that the people of Punjab were fed up with the anti-people policies of Captain Amarinder Singh. He said that according to the survey, the Aam Aadmi Party has been allotted 51 to 57 seats, while the ruling Congress has been allotted 43 to 49 seats, Akali Dal 12-18 seats, BJP 0-5 and others with 0-3. In terms of vote share, the Aam Aadmi Party has got the highest number of votes at 37 per cent, followed by the ruling Congress at 32 per cent, the Akali Dal at 21 percent and the BJP and others at 5-5 per cent.

Chadha further said that the people of Punjab now see Aam Aadmi Party as a party which can bring Punjab back on the path of progress. He said that Captain Amarinder Singh had promised to eradicate drugs, sand mafia, transport mafia and other forms of mafia in Punjab before the 2017 elections and provide ‘Ghar-Ghar Rozgar’ but power-drunk, he forgot everything. Chadha said that ever since Captain Amarinder Singh became the Chief Minister, he had never met the employees of Punjab, who wanted to meet him to get their demands met. “Captain Amarinder has handed over the government of Punjab to an official on a contract basis and he himself did not leave the royal farmhouse,” he added.

Chadha said that the officials running the government on a contract basis were pursuing anti-people policies day by day on the orders of Captain Amarinder. He said that today the Captain government was promoting all kinds of mafias started by the Akalis in Punjab. Chadha said that the people would no longer give importance to the BJP for their betrayal to the country’s farmers. Targeting the Akali Dal, he said that the Akali Dal had become the party that people hated the most. People do not want to take the name of the Akali Dal. He said that it was due to the collusion of the Akali Dal that the farmers of the country including Punjab were in trouble.

The AAP leader further said that the Akali Dal never thought of the people of Punjab, but only for their own benefit. Chadha said that today anti-people policies of Akali Dal and the Congress had put the farmers of Punjab at stake to sell to big corporate houses. He said that the farmers of Punjab were calling the black farm laws introduced by the central government as ‘death warrants’ and both the Akali and the Congress had signed it. He said that Captain Amarinder Singh had agreed to the black laws in the High Power Committee and the Akali Dal while in the government had signed to pass these black laws.

Chadha said that the people of Punjab were fed up with the anti-people policies of the Akalis and Congress. “In 2022 elections, the people of Punjab will teach these two anti-people parties a lesson. Now, the people of Punjab have expectations only from the Aam Aadmi Party,” he added. Chadha said that with the formation of the Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab, the Arvind Kejriwal model of development would be implemented in the state. He said that the Aam Aadmi Party would work harder to form the government as per the expectations of the people and would only work for the people after the formation of the government.
