Chandigarh, January 14: Akali Dal Taksali president Ranjit Singh Brahmpura on Monday said they were in for the Anandpur Sahib resolution, which advocates the real federal system of governance.
He said that there was no question of having a truck with the Shiromani Akali Dal, even if Sukhbir Singh Badal was removed as the president of the party.
Brahmpura and other Taksali leader, Sewa Singh Sekhwan, who had rebelled from the SAD last year, said they individually would not contest the upcoming elections, but would field their party candidates.
Brahmpura said he did not resign as the MP of Khadoor Sahib after breaking away from the SAD, as there were just a few months to go for the General Election.
Brahmpura claimed both Punjabi Ekta Party leader Sukhpal Singh Khaira and Aam Aadmi Party leader Bhagwant Mann had met him last week.
“They agreed with me that it was necessary for all parties to unite and fight the traditional parties like Congress and SAD,” he said.
He said that there should be an All India Gurdwara Act, to control all gurdwaras in the state. He extended support to HS Phoolka, in his alleged bid to free the SGPC from the control of Badals.
