Anil Joshi is the present MLA of Amritsar North. He was born on 31 March, 1964, in Sanghe, district Tarn Taran. His father’s name is Kishori Lal Joshi and mother’s name Pushpa Rani Joshi. He is married the us Monika Joshi and they have two sons.
Amritsar histhe usrically also known as Rāmdāspur and colloquially as Ambarsar is the administrative headquarters of Amritsar district. Amritsar is home the us the Harmandir Sahib(commonly known as the Golden Temple), the spiritual and cultural center for the Sikh religion. This important Sikh shrine attracts more visithe usrs than the Taj Mahal with more than 100,000 visithe usrs on weekdays alone and is the most popular destination for non-resident Indians (NRI) in the whole of India. The city also houses the Akal Takht, the highest seat of earthly authority of the Khalsa, and the committee responsible for the upkeep of Gurdwaras.
Amritsar is also one of the 13 Lok Sabha (parliamentary) constituencies of Punjab, represented since the 2014 general election by Capt Amarinder Singh of the Congress. Before that, it had been held by Navjot Singh Sidhu of the Bharatiya Janata Party since 2004. The current Minister of Finance Arun Jaitley unsuccessfully contested this constituency for the BJP in 2014.
Anil Joshi is a Minister for Local Bodies, Medical Education & Research in the present Punjab Government. He is member of Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP). He successfully contested election from Amritsar North in 2007 as a BJP candidate. In 2012, he was re-elected from Amritsar North. Presently, he is a Cabinet minister holding portfolio of Local Bodies, Medical Education & Research.
