Surrey (Vancouver), October 17: More than a dozen cases have been registered against the owners of a party home in Langley, where on April 19 this year a deck collapsed during a wedding celebration resulting in injuries to several people, of which 18 needed hospitalisation.
The people affected in this accident have filed 17 civil suits against the owners of the party home. Others who been made party to the cases are Langley Township, manufacturer of the deck and the father of the bride.
The plaintiffs in the case say they suffered bone fractures, soft tissue injuries, severe pain and injuries to the brain. The wedding family was closely related to Davinder Singh Garcha, leader of Indian Overseas Congress, Canada. His family members were also injured .
