Punjab Police arrest 11 men of Devinder Bambiha gang

Chandigarh, July 30: The Organised Crime Control Unit (OCCU) of the Punjab Police has arrested 11 notorious gangsters related to the Devinder Bambiha gang.

The OCCU of the Intelligence wing has arrested one Aman Kumar alias Amna Jaito and Yadwinder Singh alias Yaddu Jaito along with nine others.

Giving details, Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh, IGP Intelligence (OCCU), said according to preliminary inputs and investigations carried out so far, both were wanted in a case of brutal killing of Hardev Singh alias Gogi Jatana at his poultry farm in Rampura Phul on June 17.

An FIR in this regard had already been registered at Phul police station under various sections of the IPC and Arms Act.

IGP Intelligence (OCCU) further informed that this incident of murder was reportedly committed on the instructions of another notorious gangster Sukhpreet Singh Budha of Moga and his accomplice Gurbax Singh Sevawala of Faridkot.

Sukhpreet (Budha) went ahead and took credit of the murder on Facebook for his alleged involvement in the shootout resulting in the death of gangster Davinder in September 2016.

Another arrested gang member Varinderpal Singh alias Veena Buttar, of Moga, had provided weapons to Aman Jaito, which were used in the killing of Gogi Jatana, and was involved in at least six cases of similar nature.
He further said the other arrested gang members include Arshdeep Singh of Barnala who is facing about 34 cases of robbery, dacoity, carjacking etc.

The remaining members of this gang are Rajat Kumar alias Safi of Faridkot, Karan Mangla of Barnala, Sukha and Vicky of Faridkot, Palwinder Singh alias Likhri of Moga, Sumit Bajaj alias Landi of Faridkot, Alam Bhattal alias Kranti of Barnala and Lakhwinder Singh of Faridkot.

These criminals were involved in several cases of murder, attempt to murder, ransom, snatching of cars, smuggling of narcotics, dealing in illegal weapons besides several cases of hurt and armed robberies and theft across Punjab and Haryana.

The IG revealed that a total of 17 weapons have been recovered from the possession of these gang members which include nine pistols, five revolvers, one rifle and two guns.

Some of the weapons are foreign-made, he added.

In addition to this, two Scorpio cars and one Hyundai Creta car have also been recovered from their possession.

As per preliminary investigations, this Creta car was snatched from Kurukshetra and used in the incident of attack on Parmish Verma during April by Dilpreet Babba and Sukhpreet Budha, he added.
