Chandigarh, August 20: The leader of opposition in Punjab Vidhan Sabha, Sukhpal Singh Khaira on Sunday accused Capt Amarinder Singh and the Badals of making mockery of the criminal justice system in Punjab.

After enquiring about the well being of AAP leader Amar Singh Sekhon and his brother in DMCH, who were seriously injured allegedly in an attack by Congress goons yesterday, addressing the media at Ludhiana, Khaira said the closure report filed by Vigilance Bureau against Capt Amarinder Singh in Rs. 1150 Crores Ludhiana City Centre Scandal explains the bonhomie between both families and termed it as a manipulated and procured acquittal.

Khaira said that as per the pre-elections settlement between Captain and Badal family, the Akali government filed a closure report in the case and demolished it to save Capt Amarinder Singh. He said that in year 2007, Badals had filed the case of Ludhiana City Centre scandal against Capt Amarinder with much enthusiasm. In all, 36 people were named in the case including Captain Amarinder Singh, his son and Today Homes group and 106 pages charge sheet 10000 documents attached were attached with the complaint. “After spending 10 years of time and Crores of rupees from public exchequer suddenly the prosecution says that no irregularity has been found in the case. If this is not the mockery of judicial system then what is it?” Khaira asked.

Khaira said that Capt. is indebted to Badals and that is the reason why no action is being taken against the Badals and other corrupt Akalis in the cases of cable mafia, mining mafia etc. despite of these issues being raised by his Cabinet colleague Navjot Singh Sidhu.

Condemning the attack on AAP leader, Khaira said law and order machinery had totally collapsed in Punjab and Congress sponsored gangsters and criminal elements were free to act anywhere anytime. He demanded the immediate arrest the culprits, and warned that AAP-LIP will be forced to take on stringent steps if justice is not met in this case.
