In order to connect school students with great cultural legacy of Punjab, the Bhagwant Mann government has initiated unique endeavour. Under this, students will explore their connection with rich heritage through learning disappearing Punjabi Words during summer vacations.
Speaking and elaborating about the effort, Punjab School Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains said that all the students of classes I to VIII studying in government and private schools will have to find a word and remember of Punjabi language every day during summer vacations. He informed that similarly the students of classes V to VIII of all schools have also been ordered to remember indigenous month names and their relation with seasons along with Punjabi words.
Mr. Bains further said that Pre-nursery children have been given homework on physical activity, body hygiene and find the way during holidays, while first to eighth grader students have been given homework on the topics of moral values and to know the relationships with relatives to familiar them about reasoning.
The Cabinet Minister said that purpose of this decision to make the school students aware about rich cultural heritage while connecting them with roots. He said that the curiosity and peculiarity to discover disappearing Punjabi words and develop an understanding with them will strengthen their desire to connect with cultural roots and derivatives of words.
Mr. Bains said that while taking this decision, the Punjab government has given special attention to this matter so that the students do not incur any cost in doing this work.
