Amritsar, October 16: A couple of days after “parallel” Jathedars summoned Bibi Jagir Kaur, over 60 SGPC members on Sunday showed solidarity with her and submitted a memorandum with Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh demanding strict action against the “parallel” Jathedars for doing “sacrilegious” activities.
SGPC President Kirpal Singh Badungar was conspicuous by his absence. Alleging that the parallel Jathedars were “puppets” of the ruling Congress, Bibi Jagir Kaur said all these “dummy” jathedars hold no significance.
The “parallel” Jathedars had summoned Jagir Kaur to appear before them on November 7 to submit her clarification for her alleged role and conviction in the death of her daughter in 2000.
“I will never adhere to their summons. The Congress, which has always been anti-Panthic, has been sheltering them,” she said.
