Big leap towards women empowerment; Aruna Chaudhary hands over appointment letters to 362 Anganwadi Supervisors

Taking a big leap towards women empowerment, Punjab Social Security, Women and Child Development Minister Mrs. Aruna Chaudhary, on Wednesday, handed over appointment letters to 362 Anganwadi Supervisors. Of which, 80 newly recruited Anganwadi Supervisors appointed through the Punjab State Subordinate Services Board, have been given appointment letter here at Punjab Bhawan, while recently promoted 282 Anganwadi Supervisors have been given the appointment letter at their respective districts to ensure that COVID prevention related work not be discontinued.

Exhorting newly recruited Anganwadi Supervisors for working diligently and dedicatedly in the department, Mrs. Aruna Chaudhary said that incorporation of these newly appointed and promoted Anganwadi Supervisors would make a significant contribution to provide food rich in nutritional value and healthy atmosphere to the future generation of Punjab and ensure timely dissemination of information about the public welfare schemes of the government amongst the every sector of the state. She was accompanied by Principal Secretary Mrs. Raji P. Shrivastava, Director Mr. Vipul Ujjwal, Joint Secretary Mrs. Vimmi Bhullar and Deputy Director Mr. Gurjinder Singh Maur.

“Achieving the aim of Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh to fill the vacant posts through direct recruitment and promotions, the Department of Social Security, Women and Child Development has recently promoted 282 Anganwadi Workers to the posts of Anganwadi Supervisors and appointed 80 new Anganwadi Supervisors through Punjab State Subordinate Services Selection Board in the department”, said the minister, adding that selection of Angawadi Supervisor in huge number would further strengthened the confidence of the Anganwadi workers in the policies of the state government.

Mrs. Aruna Chaudhary categorically said that continuing our efforts of providing jobs to the youngsters under Ghar-Ghar Rozgar mission, various vacant posts in the department of Social Security, Women and Child Development would be filled up soon and advertisements in this regard will be issued shortly enabling the youth of the state to join the public sector for the welfare of the people and to contribute to the policies that will make the state better in all respects. The state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh will fulfill each promise made in the election manifesto by all means, she added.
