Chandigarh, 28 December
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab Affairs Co-incharge and MLA from Delhi Raghav Chadha disclosed during a press conference, held at the party headquarters here on Tuesday, that BJP is trying to buy the winning candidates of Aam Aadmi Party. Raghav Chadha said that AAP has instructed its councilors to put their mobile phones on recording mode and secretive CCTV cameras were being installed outside their homes to expose the BJP’s vile politics. He said that if BJP took any such action now, it would expose the ‘dirty’ politics of BJP by making the recordings of mobile phones and CCTV cameras public.
Raghav Chadha lamented that this act of ‘Horse Trading’ was carried out under the leadership of senior leaders of BJP including Punjab BJP in-charge Gajendra Singh Shekhawat. He said that late last night three senior councilors of their party were contacted by senior leaders of BJP and they were offered money. He said that real face of BJP has come to the fore after their severe defeat in the corporation elections. Raghav Chadha said that the BJP had tried to buy two of their councilors by paying Rs. 50 lakh each and one councilor by paying Rs. 75 lacs. Raghav Chadha said that the AAP councilors are not going to be tempted in any way. He said that AAP councilors were not made of the soil that would fall into such greed of BJP or any other ploy.
Raghav Chadha said, Chandigarh Municipal Corporation has been ruled by Congress for 12 years and BJP for 13 years. Meanwhile, after the alleged politics of corruption perpetrated by both the parties, the people of Chandigarh have now come out in support of the Aam Aadmi Party as an alternative in these MC elections. The people of the city have given their full support to Arvind Kerjiwal’s model of development and honest governance and have elected a record 14 AAP candidates. Following the success of AAP, the BJP has tried to buy the elected representatives of the people of Chandigarh with this meager move. He said that AAP councilors were offered money as well as various other temptations including meeting with the national leadership of BJP.
Raghav Chadha said that BJP has tried to buy councilors by launching ‘Operation Kamal’ in Chandigarh just like they tried to do in Goa, Arunachal Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. He said that may be BJP can lure Congress people into their fold, but they can’t tempt AAP candidates. Because the Aam Aadmi Party is the family of Arvind Kejriwal and every worker of the Aam Aadmi Party is a true soldier of the party. He said that AAP would not tolerate this dirty politics of BJP and could take legal action if required.
Raghav Chadha said that AAP Patron Arvind Kerjiwal is coming to Chandigarh this month to applaud and encourage the candidates of AAP in Chandigarh MC Elections. He informed that Kejriwal would hold a meeting with the winning candidate to work out and draft the delineation.
Raghav Chadha said that like Chandigarh, the people of Punjab are also fed up with the anti-people policies of the traditional parties and the corrupt regime. Punjab had been ruled by Congress for 26 years and SAD-BJP for 24 years. Now people of Punjab are looking at Aam Aadmi Party as their alternative. He said that Aam Aadmi Party is a party whose heart is beating for the prosperity of Punjab. Raghav Chadha said that Congress party would be disbanded before the Punjab Assembly elections. He said that till the assembly elections only two to four Congress MLAs would be left and the rest would leave their party and take up the fight of other parties. He appealed to the people of Punjab not to cast their vote for the Congress. He said that this would only ruin their precious vote as the Congress is on the verge of extinction in Punjab.
On this occasion Aam Aadmi Party Chandigarh Co-incharge Pradeep Chhabra, President Prem Garg, AAP’s Chandigarh Corporation Election Incharge Chandramukhi Sharma along with former Union Minister Harmohan Dhawan and Aam Aadmi Party Punjab’s spokesperson Neel Garg were also present.
