The BJP’s desperation has crossed all limits, for it has now gone as far as luring AAP workers to join their party at any cost, informed AAP Co-incharge for Punjab and MLA Shri Raghav Chadha. The senior most leadership of the BJP has been calling AAP MPs, MLAs, and other workers in Punjab, making extravagant offers to defect to their party – ‘to cite any amount of money they want if they leave AAP and join BJP’. Calls with lavish offers are being made from Amit Shah’s office to even senior AAP leaders like Shri Bhagwant Mann. Raghav Chadha warned that all phone calls from BJP offices to AAP members will be recorded and made public, after which BJP’s real and pathetic face will be exposed for everyone to see. He stated that the BJP clearly has no political relevance left in Punjab and is now struggling to even find people to contest elections for them. Their situation has deteriorated so far that even senior leaders of the BJP are not allowed to set foot in Punjab’s villages, added the AAP Punjab Co-incharge. He told the BJP to get hold of the 25 Congress MLAs who have been wanting to join the Aam Aadmi Party, and said that the BJP can take Congress leftovers, and that AAP does not want them. But the BJP must leave AAP alone. He concluded saying that no amount of BJP’s money will ever be able to buy even the most ordinary AAP worker, and any further unwarranted offers will ensure that AAP exposes BJP’s real face in front of the people.

Calling out BJP’s last minute hustle for Punjab elections, AAP Co-incharge for Punjab and MLA Shri Raghav Chadha said, “Bharatiya Janata Party is that political party which drove our country’s farmers to desperation – to struggle, to spend nights out on roads under extreme weather conditions. The BJP is the reason that over 750 farmers were compelled to sacrifice their precious lives, to become martyrs in order to fight the black laws forced on them, while the BJP was utterly heedless and continued to ignore their demands and their struggles. The BJP is that political party which works towards dividing our nation. It doesn’t even get entry into the villages and ‘pinds’ in Punjab. And out of desperation to find its political footing, the essence of its existence, has now fallen as far as extending offers to the Aam Aadmi Party members in Punjab. The senior most leaders of the BJP are now sitting in their homes in Delhi and calling up Members of Parliament, MLAs, and even sportspersons from the Aam Aadmi Party, begging them to join the BJP. They are trying to lure the people of the Aam Aadmi Party with large amounts of money and power, promising ‘any sum of money and any position that you desire if you leave AAP and join BJP’.”

He continued, “Our MPs and MLAs including Shri Bhagwant Mann Ji are receiving these phone calls directly from the Home Minister, Amit Shah’s office. Repeated offers of fulfilling defectors’ wishes at the cost of switching parties are being extended from the senior most offices of the BJP. The desperation of these offers runs so deep that these offers are straight up asking members of the Aam Aadmi Party to cite any sum of money they desire – ‘You tell us how much money, property, jewellery you want, and we will bring it to you. Just resign from the Aam Aadmi Party, and join the BJP.’ This is how far the BJP is going to find its lost political relevance in the state of Punjab. This is the pathetic truth of the BJP’s working.”

Addressing the BJP directly, Shri Raghav Chadha said, “I just have two simple things to say to the BJP. One, if you do not have enough members to fight the elections for you in Punjab, then we have a list of 25 sitting MLAs from the Congress. These 25 people are ready to resign from Congress and have been approaching the Aam Aadmi Party for membership. But we have no desire to admit the Congress Party’s leftovers, its waste. Take this list from us, and offer them your BJP membership. Just leave the Aam Aadmi Party alone. No one from AAP is going to pay heed to your superficial offers. Second, the way these exaggerated offers that are being made by your offices to our workers, our MLAs and our MPs – to cite whatever amount of money they want. I ask, how much money does the BJP possess to be making such extravagant proposals? Because even if you add all your money and property you have to offer and dangle in front of even a common AAP volunteer, you will not be able to buy them. Not a single of even the most ordinary workers of the Aam Aadmi Party will give in to your excessive offers, let alone our MLAs or MPs. It is too far-fetched an imagination to even try.”

He added, “I am issuing a deterrent warning – that the people of the Aam Aadmi Party are not carved from the same weak and shallow material as you. They are principled volunteers who cannot be lured by the show of excessive money, and a promise of a dazzling and luxurious lifestyle to leave AAP and join the BJP. Starting today, we have ordered every single MP, MLA, worker, and any other AAP member in Punjab to put their phone on recording any time an offer call strikes. And no matter who makes the call from the BJP, be it a senior leader or Amit Shah himself, they must record the entire conversation. Hence, anytime the BJP tries to instigate defection offers and lure members of the Aam Aadmi Party into BJP, we will record the entire exchange and be ready with proof of BJP’s desperation.”

The AAP Co-incharge for Punjab further said, “Moreover, I would like to inform you that the Bharatiya Janata Party is lagging behind on all fronts in Punjab. Their situation has so severely declined that even the most senior leaders of the BJP are denied entry by the locals into villages and streets of Punjab. This is the state of the party which is trying to buy off our people, which is making all its efforts to put a crack in the Aam Aadmi Party solidarity. To this BJP, I say that no matter how much wealth, property, power over CBI, ED, Income Tax Department, Delhi Police, and endless other agencies you might possess, you will never be able to buy a single member of the Aam Aadmi Party. The people of AAP are neither going to be scared, nor are they going to be bought. This is a straightforward message I want to relay to the BJP. In case they are still wretched for more membership, we are happy to share the list of the 25 Congress MLAs, who are incessantly begging us to give them AAP membership. Clearly, Congress has no future left in Punjab, so you can pick up after them, offer membership to their leftovers and make them contest elections given you seem to have no other choice. Do whatever you want, stay away from the Aam Aadmi Party, do not try to talk to our people. And if even now these pathetic offers do not end, all our leaders and workers in Punjab will simply record these conversations and expose BJP’s real face for everyone to see.”
